We borrowed your still-hunting tacticsA birth lair in snow at our fateWe turned on your natural instinctsSelf-killing guns loaded with baitWe borrowed your still-hunting tacticsA birth lair in snow at our fateWe turned on your natural instinctsSelf-killing guns loaded with baitMove slow move slowKeep the wind in your faceSurvey the land, smell the airYou're housed and humanWe're becoming bearWe made deals for your preservationAs the cold war clung at our chestsWe traced you with satellite broadcastAnd the chemical lives you ingestRain-run polar sunIt's the sense of placeSurvey the land, smell the airWhen housed I'm humanYou're becoming bearBecoming bearBecoming bearBecoming bearYou're becoming bearMove slow move slowKeep the wind in your faceSurvey the land, smell the airYou're housed and humanWe're becoming bearBecoming bearRain-run polar sunIt's the sense of placeSurvey the land, smell the airWhen housed I'm humanYou're becoming bearBecoming bearBecoming bearBecoming bearBecoming bear

Please don't leave me hereI cannot moveI have nowhere else to goI did not build these wallsI said, The darkness is no hiding placeYou said, How did my world grow so very smallPolar sun sets across this dwindling floeDeserted shelter, desolate homeAs I am reflected in your brown eyesYou said, There are no hiding places left to find. We've been left behindWe've been left to findYou said, I've been left behind all my lifeThere are no hiding places left to findWe've been left behindWe've been left to findYou said, I've been left behind all my lifeAll my lifeAll my lifeAll my life

Last Transmission 03:42

lyrics

It's the silence that breaks your heartIs there anyone out thereBroadcasting live, Ac65I know that when you lie awake tonightThat we won't both see the same starsI'm fighting to keep the connection aliveI fear it's fading fastSomehow hear me calling youStation to stationAre you receiving me, overThis is my last transmissionCan you hear me calling youStation to stationAre you receiving me, overThis is my last transmissionPower down, wheels upI've left, data compromisedAbandoning my post soFinally we will look up the same skiesBut when we lie awake at nightAnd we still can't see the same starsWe'll know the damage silence has doneIt tore our together apartSo now, hear me calling youStation to stationAre you receiving me, overThis is my last transmissionCan you, hear me calling youStation to stationAre you receiving me, overThis is my last transmissionSo now, hear me calling youStation to stationAre you receiving me, overThis is my last transmissionThe silence broke my heartTore our together apartThe silence broke my heartTore our together apartTore our together apartThis is my last transmissionMy last transmissionMy last transmissionMy last transmissionMy last transmission

House of Bears 04:31

Sometimes I see your face in decaying windowsBefore my eyes as I fall asleepI look at every picture of my lifeAnd still the House of Bears stays with meStay with meDisguised in the glacial mistI'm hiding to stay aliveThey can't hunt what they don't think existsIf they can't see us, we can surviveDesire destroys what you loveConquers lands where you don't belongTechnology won't save you from meWe'll be here long after you've goneBuildings and cars and computersThey'll crumble and crashYou are not in our futuresThe human condition is not built to lastEvery picture still haunts meI know that we won't meet againEvery picture takenIs now a moment that has come to an endSometimes I see your face in decaying windowsBefore my eyes as I fall asleepI look at every picture of my lifeAnd still the House of Bears stays with meSometimes I see your face in decaying windowsBefore my eyes as I fall asleepI look at every picture of my lifeAnd still the House of Bears stays with meBuildings and cars and computersThey'll crumble and crashYou are not in our futuresThe human condition is not built to last

Breaking the Line 04:33

You weren't listening to understandMore to monitorI never cared what our neighbours saidCaught behind the curtain, when it fellYou simply walked awayAnd left me to face our deadliest foeSpirits before my eyesDespite your wiretapping paranoia and my spiesWe were so globally blindTell me what I need to know I need youMore than everI'm here, don't say it's too latePlease, let it be now or neverSo I sit amongst the rusting barrelsWaiting for your future to catch up with your actionsYou captured the world in my eyesWe've been so globally blindTell me what I need to know I need youMore than everI'm here, don't say it's too latePlease, let it be now or neverTell me what I need to know I need youMore than everI'm here, don't say it's too latePlease, let it be now or neverTell me what I need to know I need youMore than everI'm here, don't say it's too latePlease, let it be now or never

This is the sophom*ore release by Lines of Flight. It follows their previous album Signs of Life.

It is an E.P. of change, of progress, of development. It is an EP caught between the past and the future.
Standing in contrast to 'Signs of Life's reflective emotions, triggered by lockdown, 'More Than Human' begins the process of looking forward. They confront what is lying ahead. Lines of Flight explore what humans do to each other and why they do it; what we do to other animals we share the world with; and what humans do to the planet.

They saw loneliness, self-sabotage, isolation, paranoia and fear. They saw the natural world remaining here long after humans are gone. They saw the pandemic fade away and things returning to 'normal'. They saw that things won't ever be the same but that so much hasn't changed. We are creatures of habit, we are creatures of comfort, we don't change unless we have to, or until it is too late.
